“Home sweet home.”

WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

After three weeks of pure sight-seeing, rental-car-driving (nearly got lost with it, too), roller-coaster-riding and playing Halo 3, we’re finally back home. I already miss being with my stateside cousins. What can I say; I’m undeniably amazed by the place. Take my word for it. It was really fun while it lasted. The three weeks I’ve had is definitely worthwhile.

And it ended on Sunday. Now, it’s Friday, and I’ve been downloading stuff like crazy. Albums and stuff. I’ve been designing stuff too, but I’m putting it off for a while, since there’s no one giving me orders. Yet. And I still don’t feel the urge of creative juices going into my brain - oh, wait, that’s just like when I’m trying to finish Conscientious chapters! Heh. I’ve been commenting on blogs recently (except for Multiply blogs), starting with Gwen CATCH2T10 S11’s president.

I’ve also been eating a lot since I’ve arrived here. Like, come on, I’ve eaten at least three packs of those gummy bears, as you can see at the top left, in the past 24 hours. I’m probably just addicted to gummy stuff, but still, I can tell, that’s a lot. (And I just wish I can replace my obsession to technology to these cuddly, pretty much edible sweets.)

Oh, I almost forgot, I’ve been playing with my iPhone in the past two weeks. It’s like playing (tweaking stuff, blah, blah) with my computer, except on a mobile phone. I absolutely cannot believe that I’d be this bewildered with the phone’s hackability, And look, I’ve already bricked (a term for ultimately messing up a gadget, almost to the point of being dead) my phone once. And for a two-week timeline and a computer-literate brain, that’s fast. I better start taking care of it, and still successfully tweak it. (And yeah, I’m basically paying this phone, by the design stuff I’m doing. I already have money to pay for it in full, it’s just one client doesn’t have sufficient funds to give the full payment. So, yeah, dad’s paid for it for a while.) It’s still a HUGE SUCCESS (yeah, that Portal joke again, I know), nevertheless.

Okay, now that I’m done with this, what else to do… None, I guess. I’ll probably just sit down, visit random sites, listen to music, and open another pack of gummi bears. Yum.

About the Picture:
Taken recently using the teeny-sized camera of the iPhone. Number of bears during picture taking: 28. Number of current bears: 0.

After 5 days in COS…

I still have jet lag. I slept for twelve full hours, and literally skipped dinner. Mom says I was just lovesick, but I don’t know about that; I actually like it here. If only I can stay here forever.

My little brother was able to buy a PSP, and now he’s getting through Burnout: Legends, even without saving it (since there wasn’t a memory stick included in the package). Eventually, I ordered my own iPhone (I’m making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS - Portal joke, pun intended) but I still have to wait for a week. Too many people buying one, I guess.

We were also able to go to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, about sixty-five miles away from Colorado Springs. I have pictures of it already - a little bit more than a hundred to be exact.

HUEG WIN.

Academics, Trips • 1 comment

After three months of pure electronics and English researching bullshit, I’m finished! My grades aren’t necessarily high, but the amount of WIN is terrific, to say the least. Here’s the result:

COMORGA (Computer Organization) - 3.5
CT-MATH (Mathematics for CSE/NE) - 1.5
ELECOMM (Basic Electronic Communications) - 4.0
ENGLRES (Basic Research Skills) - 2.5
LBYELCM (Lab for Electronic Communication) - 3.5
LBYLINC (Lab for Linear Circuits) - 3.5
LINCIRC (Linear Circuits and Applications) - 1.0

GPA: 2.618

Note: All courses are of three units, except for the two laboratory courses, with one unit each. 1.0 is the lowest passing grade, 4.0 is the highest, 0.0 is the failing grade.

During that day (which is yesterday), I get to celebrate the huge success with the people who have survived the dreadful CT-MATH subject. Therefore, I’m going to have a great vacation without any academic worries and what-not. To the people who are unaware: The whole family is going to Colorado Springs tomorrow.

And yeah, I get to meet Tekki during the course card distribution.

Not today, sir. Not today.

Well, what do you know… I lied! I wasn’t lazy or tired, and there wasn’t even an end-of-the-world scenario! Basically, I was prevented by my parents to blog. 99% is because that it was already too late in the night to use the computer. 1% is because they consider 10pm to be late. I don’t blame them; technology like what we have right now doesn’t exist in the 70’s.

So, what did we do yesterday? Hmm… We went to Bataan for a swim. Yeah, that’s basically it. And yeah, we also went to Mt. Samat and revisited the “big-ass cross” building there. That’s 36 stories of pure concrete and busts. And I took pictures in the process. My sister hates my photography, but there are like, three pics here that are computer wallpaper-worthy. Thank God it was a really bright day. I got the pictures saved in iPhoto. All I need is the Flickr exporter, and you can all get a glimpse of my utter crap.

Oh, almost forgot, I also made a new chapter for Conscientious that day - in pen-and-paper form, of course. I encoded it this morning, and it’s now up in http://conscientious.vrve.net. (I can’t redirect it to the uni.cc one, since they’re in freakin’ maintenance.) I’ve also started on the next chapter (eighteenth) and it should be hopefully done by next week. Yes, not this week. I’m too damn busy.

I wonder why people don’t take their extra time to talk anymore? To be honest, my activity logs for all IM accounts have been empty, except for the people I talk with for design work. Sure, I’ve tried to talk to other people in my contact list, but they just reply for one, then ignore the second time. Why can’t they be like me? Oh sure, I’m often busy with almost every design work and school projects, but I still talk. And I’d often reply to every message I receive.

And they say that they text message people more than often. Well, I can boast this fact to all of you: I get three hundred messages for at least a year (two at most). Not because that I’m too conservative. As a matter of fact, before my credit automatically goes to zero after two months of loading to, I use it for visiting Internet sites during classes. It’s just because there’s no one sending messages to me. A lot of people know my other number (the Globe one), but still no. So, yeah, I threw the SIM card off.

Kinda like what happened to my Multiply account. I cancelled it for the exact same reason.

I can sort of feel Sir Marcos’ feeling of having zero communication, except for his DLSU email account. (Take note: He doesn’t even have a mobile phone.) Not the feeling of being far away from civilization, but the feeling of trying to be far away from worries.

Unless I’m in a good status in the future, I might do exactly what he’s doing.
